MCMURRAY – Rep. Natalie Mihalek (R-Allegheny/Washington) announced today that registration is now available for the Port Authority Senior Citizen ConnectCard at her district office, located at 3515 Washington Road, Suite 540, McMurray.
“The new ConnectCard is a great asset for seniors to have, and I am excited to share that our local seniors can now register for them at my district office in McMurray and during satellite office hours at our office space in Bethel Park,” said Mihalek.
The Senior Citizen ConnectCard permits adults age 65 or older to ride for free on Port Authority vehicles, including buses, light rail and inclines, during all hours of operation. The ConnectCard is also accepted by other statewide transit agencies.
The new plastic ConnectCard is personalized with the holder’s name and photo to protect against fraud and to help sustain the free ride program. Registration for the ConnectCard is also free. The card will expire four years from the date of the applicant’s next birthday but can be renewed.
If residents wish to register for the card, they will need to bring valid proof-of-age documentation with them to Mihalek’s district office. Her office can accept a photo driver’s license, PA ID card, passport, PACE ID card, armed forces discharge/separation papers or a birth certificate.
Mihalek’s district office is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and residents can stop in anytime during those hours to register for the ConnectCard. Residents can also register during Mihalek’s satellite office hours at the Bethel Park School House, every third Monday of the month, from 10 a.m. to noon.
For more information or questions, residents are encouraged to call Mihalek’s district office at 724-942-2045.
