WHAT: The House Appropriations Committee Subcommittee on Education and the House Education Committee Subcommittee on Higher Education will hold a joint hearing to review higher education funding in Pennsylvania. This year’s budget spends $1.86 billion on higher education and it is prudent for the House to review expenditures to ensure taxpayers’ dollars are being spent appropriately.

HARRISBURG – The House of Representatives has passed Rep. Natalie Mihalek’s (R-Allegheny/Washington) bill to protect victims of human trafficking. House Bill 246 amends the human trafficking statute to prohibit defendants from introducing evidence of a human trafficking victim’s past sexual victimization and allegations of past sexual victimization.

The Miracle League of the South Hills Inc. requested a Greenways, Trails and Recreation fund grant to improve an existing baseball field in Upper St. Clair Township. The grant will be used for concession stand construction.
