MCMURRAY – In order to prevent personal information from being used fraudulently, Rep. Natalie Mihalek (R-Allegheny/Washington) will host an Identity Theft and Shredder Event on Saturday, April 6, from 9-11 a.m.
The event will be held at Bethel Park Independence Middle School,
2807 Bethel Church Road, Bethel Park.
“This ID Theft and Shredder Event is a great opportunity for people to come and dispose of documents containing account numbers or personal data,” Mihalek said. “We will also use this opportunity to give people the latest information about traditional scams and alert them about new ways in which scammers are targeting them.”
Documents that are encouraged to be shredded include those with credit card numbers, Social Security numbers, medical information and bank account information.
Residents are asked to bring just papers and documents in loose form. Magazines and books will not be accepted.
More information about the event, please call Mihalek’s district office at 724-942-2045.
