Upper St. Clair, Bethel Park Projects Awarded Grants, Mihalek Says
November 18, 2025
HARRISBURG – Rep. Natalie Mihalek (R-Allegheny/Washington) announced the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Financing Authority has approved grant awards in the Municipality of Bethel Park and Upper St. Clair Township. The more than $600,000 in grants come from the Allegheny Gaming Economic Development Tourism Fund (GEDTF).
"Projects like these are tangible and worthwhile investments that improve neighborhoods, and exactly the investments that Harrisburg can and should be delivering on," Mihalek said. “Both projects involve significant community hubs that also lure visitors who then patronize our local businesses, so it makes sense that grant dollars are invested this way.”
In Upper St. Clair, Gilfillan Farm was awarded just over $450,000 for several renovations; including the removal of two cisterns, masonry work, utility upgrades and excavation projects. Operated by the Historical Society of Upper St. Clair, Gilfillan Farm is a historic farm used for educational and historical purposes.
Concerts and other community events will have a new location at Bethel Park’s Millenium Park, where a band shell project was awarded more than $150,000. In addition to the band shell, the project includes connecting electricity and acquiring of audio-visual equipment.
The GEDTF program was established by Act 71 of 2004. Though the grant program was scheduled to end in in 2019, Act 42 of 2017 extended the program another 10 years. It is funded through gaming revenues and does not include taxpayer money from the General Fund.
