Mihalek to Host Shred Event for District 40
October 1, 2021
ALLEGHENY – Rep. Natalie Mihalek (R-Allegheny/Washington) will hold a free, on-site shredding event for residents of the 40th District. The event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 16, from 9-11 a.m., in the Upper St. Clair High School’s lower lot, located at 1825 McLaughlin Run Road, Pittsburgh. Attendees should enter on Devonwood Dr. and exit on McLaughlin Run Road.
There is a limit of one box per household. Examples of items residents may want to bring include bank and credit card statements, tax documents, insurance claim forms and anything else that lists a Social Security number. Staples, paper clips and manila folders are acceptable. The documents received are shredded in a truck on-site and then taken to a local paper recycling plant to be treated and reused. Only personal shredding is allowed. No documents from commercial businesses will be accepted.
“Identity theft is unfortunately a very common occurrence, and I encourage my constituents to take advantage of this free service,” Mihalek said. “If you are unable to make this event, please remember that personal information should always be kept safe and secure until it can be disposed of.”
Dress for Success will also be on-site collecting donations of gently used or new women’s business casual clothing.
District 40 consists of Bethel Park Borough, and Upper St. Clair and Peters townships. For additional information, please contact Mihalek’s district office at 724-942-2045.
