UPPER ST. CLAIR – In order to prevent personal information from being used fraudulently, Rep. Natalie Mihalek (R-Allegheny/Washington) will host an Identity Theft and Shredder Event on Saturday, Sept. 14, from 9-11 a.m.
The event will be held at the Upper St. Clair High School parking lot, 1825 McLaughlin Run Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15241.
“This ID Theft and Shredder Event is a great opportunity for residents to come and dispose of their documents that may contain sensitive information or personal data,” Mihalek said. “We will also use this opportunity to give people the latest information about traditional scams and alert them about new ways in which scammers are targeting them.”
Documents that should be shredded include those with credit card numbers, Social Security numbers, medical information and bank account information.
Residents are asked to bring just papers and documents in loose form. Magazines and books will not be accepted.
More information about the event, please call Mihalek’s district office at 724-942-2045.
