Mihalek Appointed Deputy Policy Chairman for 2019-20 Legislative Session
HARRISBURG – Majority Policy Chairman Donna Oberlander (R-Clarion/Armstrong/Forest) has named Rep. Natalie Mihalek (R-Allegheny/Washington) as a deputy policy chairman for the 2019-20 legislative session.
“As a freshman legislator, this is quite an honor and I am grateful for this opportunity,” said Mihalek. “In this new role, I will have the opportunity to get a more in-depth, detailed look at all the issues facing our Commonwealth. I am very excited to use my experience and background to help the committee advance policies that will benefit the people of Pennsylvania.”
The House Majority Policy Committee conducts hearings and roundtable discussions about important statewide and regional issues that matter most to Pennsylvania citizens; gathers testimony and information from key stakeholders; and works within the House Republican Caucus to develop policies to address those issues. The Policy Committee also works in tandem with the speaker and majority leader to examine and refine critical pieces of legislation in advance of floor consideration.
“We’re excited that Rep. Mihalek is joining our team of deputy policy chairs,” Oberlander said. “Her experience in the criminal justice system, along with her military service, will serve the Policy Committee well as we deal with a number of issues important to Allegheny and Washington counties and all of Pennsylvania.”
