Mihalek Announces $35,000 PAsmart Initiative Grant for Peters Township School District
HARRISBURG – Rep. Natalie Mihalek (R-Allegheny/Washington) announced today that Peters Township School District will receive a $35,000 grant as part of Gov. Tom Wolf’s PAsmart Initiative.

The PAsmart Initiative provided $5.7 million in PAsmart Targeted grants to expand computer science classes and teacher training at 163 school districts, charter schools and intermediate units across the Commonwealth.

The targeted grants represent one component of the initiative, which will provide $20 million to bring high-quality computer science and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education in elementary, middle, and high schools and professional development for teachers.

“I want to congratulate Peters Township School District for being selected to receive this grant,” said Mihalek. “This grant will help best prepare our students to enter the ever-changing workforce.”

The 40th Legislative District includes Bethel Park Borough and Upper St. Clair Township in Allegheny County and Peters Township in Washington County.
